10 months ago, I took a leap of faith and started Trillium Event Company. It was scary but I knew it was time to stop talking and start doing. When I was planning the details for Trillium Event Company, I knew a website was a necessity, but where to start was a hard question. I knew I wanted to try to build and design it on my own. I just didn’t know if I was doing anything right and had no clue on how time consuming building a website could be! I honestly didn’t expect it to take SO LONG!
Now, I will tell you, I have pretty much zero website building/SEO/coding/any-other-technical-term-experts-use experience. I started this journey in April guys. APRIL. I know you are probably thinking, really? 7 months? Well, I wasn’t working on it for 7 months straight. I would work on every small detail like what fonts to use or why a certain image isn’t showing how its supposed to for days, sometimes even a full week. When you are learning as you go though, it is something that is needed so in the future you can easily fix and understand what is happening. I took months off in the summer where I didn’t even touch the website. I am a mom of 3 and have a full time job. Sometimes it got overwhelming and walking away was needed.
I, however, have learned so much. About myself, what I am capable of, and about websites in a whole. I will always be grateful for the time spent making mistakes and learning from them, holy smokes was it a frustrating at times! I am so extremely proud of this website though and the fact that I can say I did it all myself. 7 months of frustration, tears, and joy. All worth it. And I still have more up my sleeve.
My hope is for this to be a place not only for couples to find a vendor, but for them to also turn to for inspiration or advice. My website itself will be a place specifically for all of my services and the story behind Trillium Event Company. This blog will be where I will share all of the weddings I work so hard on with my amazing couples, the photo shoots with talented wedding professionals, design inspiration, and general wedding and event advice (from me AND other professionals). While you are here, I want you to get lost and lose track of time because you can’t stop scrolling.
I also want to shout out a super giant THANK YOU for everyone who has supported me, cheered me on, and/or worked with me so far. You are all apart of this and I couldn’t have done it without you! There will never be enough words to explain just how grateful I am to you all. Just know who you are and remind yourself every day that you are the bomb dot com.
Now, be sure to take a minute to look around, read all of the information I have posted, and stay tuned for more! Also, we are all human, so if you notice a mistake or typo or if you are an expert of website things, I want to hear from you! I believe we should never stop learning and strive to know more.
